Goh, Ying Soon

Ying Soon Goh is senior lecturer and currently teaches Mandarin as third language to non-native learners at MARA University of Technology, Malaysia. He has had experience in teaching Mandarin at primary, secondary and tertiary level for almost 19 years. He has been actively presenting papers in national and international conferences. His research interests are in the use of educational technology in Mandarin teaching and learning, as well as web-based instruction.

Si Thang Kiet Ho is doing a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Wellington, New Zealand. His research area is Intercultural Language Learning.

 

Hsu, Wenhua

Dr. Wenhua Hsu is currently teaching at I-Shou University in southern Taiwan. She received her Doctorate in the field of ESP from University of Essex, U.K. and her Master of Business Administration from Kansas State University, U.S.A. Her research interests are English for business purposes teaching, lexical coverage and academic vocabulary. She can be contacted at whh@isu.edu.tw.

 

Kretzenbacher, Heinz L.

Heinz L. Kretzenbacher received his M.A. and Dr. phil. degrees from the University of Munich, Germany. He is a senior lecturer and convener of the German Studies Program in the School of Languages and Linguistics of the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research interests include sociolinguistics, language teaching and LSP/academic communication. At the moment, he is involved in the first stages of a major languages and cultural studies curriculum review of European and Asian language programs at the University of Melbourne.

 

Lip, Paul Chi Hong

Paul Chi Hong Lip is a lecturer at Caritas Institute for Further & Adult Education –Kowloon. He has been a City and Guilds Pitman IESOL (International English for Speakers of Other Languages) oral examiner. He has presented at a number of international conferences and published in conference proceedings and international journals in applied linguistics.

 

Pishghadam, Reza

Reza Pishghadam received his PhD in TEFL from Allame Tabataba`i University, Iran in 2007. Since then, he has been working as an assistant professor in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad where he teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses of TEFL. His areas of research are psychology of education, sociology of education, and first language acquisition.

 

Russell, Victoria

Victoria Russell is a candidate in the Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology Ph.D. program at the University of South Florida where she currently teaches ESOL, Spanish, and Foreign Language Methods courses. She received a master’s in Spanish Language and Literature in 1994 from Jacksonville University. Victoria has taught Spanish in the United States and in the United Kingdom, and her experience ranges from primary through post secondary levels. Her research interests include computer-assisted language learning, web based instruction, and interlanguage pragmatics.

 

Toyoda, Etsuko

Etsuko Toyoda is Lecturer of Japanese Language and Linguistics in Asia Institute at The University of Melbourne. Her research interests lie in the area of Japanese linguistics, second language acquisition, CALL and psycholinguistics. Her recent publications include: Toyoda, E. (2007). Enhancing autonomous L2 vocabulary learning focusing on the development of word-level processing skills. Reading Matrix, 7(3), 13–34.
